A performance around the literary universe of the Ecuadorian writer Pablo Palacio.

A production of FIALV, Festival Internacional de Artes Vivas Loja, Ministerio de Cultura y Patrimonia del Ecuador, Autumn 2018.
Research residence at HELLERAU - European Center for the Arts Dresden, 17th-30th June 2018.

I want to surrender to the immensity of his work, its texture, its silences, its perfect disorder. A toast for his characters, neither heroic nor romantic; There are few things braver than facing up to misfortune and human misery. Shivering is not cowardly, it never has been. Palacio was a man of multiple edges that nobody could limit.

An incarnation of Palacio's work on stage. Wanting to inhabit his worldview, his universes. Giving form, soul and voice to his characters trough the bodies of the dancers. Write, with movements and pauses, a visual poetry, as dreamlike and symbolic as truthful and crude was his work.
And humor as a combat weapon, always.

Palacio is still one of the most valuable representatives of the Latin American avant-garde. He was a writer who lived always outside the established. He was an eternal rebel who never gave in to his thoughts. He was an "illegible" writer according to tradition, who, in his totalitarian face, tries to homogenise everything, denying those who do not enter into its logic. Palacio questioned the very bases of the literary canon of his time.
